Jaceey Sebastian

Jaceey Sebastian has been a resident of the South Fulton area since relocating to the Cedar Grove community in 2006 from Brooklyn, New York. He is a strong, caring community leader, advocate, mentor and volunteer. He was an unwavering advocate for the incorporation of the City of South Fulton and served as Vice President of South Fulton United, Inc., an organization formed to educate the residents of South Fulton on cityhood. He also served as co-chair of the People’s Campaign, a grassroots citizen’s organization he co-founded to promote the “yes” vote for the incorporation of the City of South Fulton. Jaceey is the current President of the Legacy at Cedar Grove Home Owner’s Association. He is the former Vice President of the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Magnet Parents Board and past President of the Chorus Parents Board of Tri-Cities High School and was awarded the Most Outstanding Parent from 2009 to 2011.

Jaceey is an active Democrat and currently serves as the City of South Fulton City Captain for the Democratic Party. He is a Post Seat Holder and was recently elected as a State Committee Member representing Commission District 6 on the Democratic State Committee of Georgia. He is also the Campaign Manager for Senator Dr. Donzella James, D35, who represents the Cedar Grove area.

His love of service is tied heavily to his faith — Jaceey is a member of the Community Church of God where he is an Elder, the Chairperson of the nine-member Property and Finance committee, and President of the Men’s Ministry.

Jaceey’s professional background consists of diverse background in market and social policy research. He has managed research projects with budgets of over ten million dollars domestically and internationally. He has been employed by some of the nation’s top research firms including Mathematica Policy Research in Princeton, New Jersey and ORC Macro International (now ICF) in New York City. He was also instrumental in planning and executing the 2001 population and housing census in his native Antigua and Barbuda where he supervised a staff of over 300.

Jaceey earned a BBA degree, with honors, from Baruch College (CUNY), New York, NY where he majored in Statistical Data Analysis and minored in Sociology. He holds a diploma in Survey and Census Methodology from the International Statistics Program Center, Bureau of the Census, Washington, D.C. He has also completed a postgraduate certificate in Survey Methods and Applied Statistics at the Center for Advanced Training in Applied Statistics in Munich, Germany.

Jaceey is married to Gillian, his bride of nearly 30 years, and they have three wonderful children; Marissa, Jonathan and Jeremy. Jaceey credits his family for his service, “My wife and kids keep me grounded and focused. Without their love and support, I would not be able to serve as I do. Their sacrifices make it all possible.”
